    We are looking for you to have:

    * A good understanding of the process to becoming data-driven
    * Ability to see the bigger picture, and communicate this effectively to internal and external teams
    * A genuine interest in technology and the desire to stay up to date on the latest trends
    * A strong academic background in a core subject
    * Relevant professional experience within data, digital transformation, consulting, or advisory services

    You should have experience with some of the following technologies: SQL, Python, Power BI, Fabric, Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake

    Job description

    Our platform currently focuses on helping customers get better value from their consumer loans and credit cards, with upcoming plans to expand into mortgages.

    We're hiring our first-ever Data Engineer to take ownership of our data architecture, pipelines, and infrastructure. You'll be continuing the work laid by our Tech Lead and will play a critical role in shaping how data drives our product, analytics, and future AI/ML capabilities.

    You'll collaborate closely with product and engineering to ensure that our data systems are robust, secure, and scalable, enabling customers to unlock powerful insights.



    What You'll Do

    * Design and implement our cloud infrastructure (primarily on Google Cloud Platform)
    * Build and manage data pipelines using tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Composer
    * Set up a robust data warehouse and establish best practices for ingestion, transformation, and storage
    * Work with software engineers and product teams to integrate analytics and event tracking
    * Prepare the data ecosystem for future use cases including personalization, recommendations, and real-time analytics
    * Help define and implement a modern data stack (Databricks, BI tools like Looker, etc.)



    What We're Looking For

    * Solid experience building data pipelines and architectures in GCP (or willingness to cross-train from another cloud provider)
    * Proficiency in SQL, Python, and ETL frameworks
    * Experience with data lakes, warehouses, and orchestration tools
    * Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset - you enjoy building from scratch
    * Strong communication and collaboration skills

    Your role will involve designing, developing and delivering solutions to help organisations become more data-driven based on predictive and advanced analytics

    Your tasks can include:

    * Working on projects related to API development and integrations
    * Designing and building at an architectural level
    * Building solutions from scratch, or modernising existing solutions
    * Exploring and evaluating tools for the role and advising on the optimal solution
    * Working together with data architects, analysts and engineers to deliver comprehensive solutions
