Senior Accountant with D365/Power BI - $90k - Richmond, VA

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our client, a manufacturing company located in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Power BI and have extensive experience working with production and supply chain focused companies, particularly with experience in inventory and cost accounting.

Primary Responsibilities

* Hands-on day-to-day accountant who can also analyze financial reports for process improvement
* Oversight and active involvement with all financial and accounting functions
* Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company goals; assist in business plan implementation to ensure long-term success
* Drive process improvements and efficiency gains in accounting operations
* Create, enforce, and review internal accounting and financial policies
* Manage the annual audit and tax filings process, including coordination with third-party advisors
* Conduct in-depth financial analysis, management of financial reports and statements, and other required financial documents
* Execute month-end closings, financial forecasts, budget preparation, cost accounting, audits, and reporting
* Collaborate with company leaders and executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities
* Coach and lead the accounting team through professional development, one-on-one coaching, and effective accountability
* Review and ensure compliance with state and federal accounting standards, policies, and procedures
* Perform other accounting and financial-related tasks, projects, and assignments as needed

What You'll Need

* 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance roles, including team leadership experience
* Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP processes
* Manufacturing industry experience, particularly with inventory and cost accounting
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP
* Proficiency in report development, including Power BI, SQL, or advanced Excel
